If I've got a person record in the database, how can I use that data to fill in a lead. For the business I run, it is possible that someone is a lead for a product one year and then that order gets fulfilled, and then a few years down the line they come back and want to buy again. I want to mark this re-buying as a new lead.
Maybe this isn't the correct way to work? What should I be doing with repeat purchasers? |

Hi Julia,
Sales Lead records are the start point in the sales process. A Sales Lead gets converted to a Person, Organisation & Opportunity, or any combination of those three record types. People records are generally related to an Organisation (the Employer field on the person record is set). Open a Person record, go to the Opportunities tab, click New Opportunity. This will allow you to create an Opportunity that is automatically linked to the Person and the Organisation record.
If, a year later, you want to create a very similar Opportunity, simply open the Opportunity record and use the Copy Document button > Opportunity option.
This video explains Working with Leads. This Knowledge Base page explains the process for Converting Leads.
I hope you find this information and the online resources useful. Please feel free to post a reply if you have any further queries. |
