When you create a new person as an employee of an organisation , the 'copy details from employer' button only copies the address details. Is there anyway we could customise this to copy the following fields? 1. Website 2. Industry etc.. |

Hello again. This is also something you can do with a 'Process Button' to your form. Thanks |

Hi You might want to consider dealing with this slightly differently. It's now possible to customise a Person record so that when you select the Employer, it auto-populates other fields in the Person record (either standard fields or custom fields you've created). To do this, click Start > Configuration > Customisation > Record Types > People and open the Linked Fields tab.
Here, you can select Employer and add a mapping that pulls through (for example) the value from the website field on the Employer record into the website field on the Person record. You can use the same technique to populate other fields in the Person record.
At the moment this mapping only works if you create a Person record and then select the Employer (rather than opening the Person tab on an Employer record and creating a new Employee) but within the next 2 months or so, a new release will allow you to populate fields when creating the Employee in this way.
Hope this helps. |
