Overview Tab

Introduction

The Overview tab is visible on Cases, Opportunities, People ,Organizations and Transaction Documents – the tab displays a high-level view of the People and Activities related to the record, as well as the next scheduled Activity.

The Overview tab is designed to make it easier for your users to quickly gain an understanding of what needs to be done, and what has already been done, with any given Case or Transaction.

NOTE: If there are no completed Activities related to the record, the Overview tab will only show two sections – Next Steps, and People.

The tab is hidden by default, but can be turned on in Form Layouts.

Further functionality

Any related records that are shown in the Overview tab will automatically be given a coloured banner:

  • People – Green (positive status), Grey (status not known), Red (negative status)
  • Activities – Green (upcoming), Red (overdue)

NOTE: The People listed within the Overview tab will be displayed in the same order as the status picklist.

Within the Overview tab, you can create a new Activity or add a Person to the record by selecting the ‘Add Next Step’/’Add Person’ button that appears if there are no existing next steps or related People. 

You can easily open the Activities and People records that appear in the Overview tab by clicking on the title of the Activity, or the name of the Person.

NOTE: If there are more than three Activities or People related to a record, the first three will display normally, and a button will appear beneath them allowing you to quickly access the Activities or People tab.

You can also amend the Person’s relationship and status with regards to the record by clicking on the coloured banner at the top of the Person card:
