Imperial Society of Teachers and Dancing selects Workbooks CRM for Membership and Marketing

Type: #PR

Reading, England, 8th August 2013

The Imperial Society of Teachers and Dancing (ISTD) has selected Workbooks CRM to replace its current membership database as well as to manage the hundreds of courses and events delivered each year.

Hassan Khan, CEO at ISTD, commented: “Like many similar membership organisations we were seeking a central membership management and marketing solution that would integrate effectively with our current systems as well as offer support for future growth and development. In Workbooks we believe we have found all of this in a modern, cost-effective package.”

As a registered charity, the ISTD provides services to 7,000 members worldwide and carries out over 200,000 dance examinations every year. ISTD wanted a CRM to incorporate membership, courses and training, events registration, bookings and payments, and integrate with the website and finance system.

Sarah Clarke, Head of Marketing and Membership at ISTD, commented: “We defined our membership and CRM requirements and finally selected Workbooks because we felt they aligned closest with our specific needs and could demonstrate prior experience with membership and certification bodies. We also felt that we would be able to develop a closer partnership with the vendor, rather than dealing with third-party resellers.”

Ian Moyse, Sales Director at, commented: “We are often shortlisted alongside large brand name vendors and membership management systems and we have found that an increasing number of organisations are selecting Workbooks as a result of the scope of functionality we offer at a more affordable price. As confirmed in the recent G2Crowd CRM report, Workbooks delivers a quicker implementation, a higher user adoption rate and faster ROI than the leading CRM vendors.”

ISTD joins other not-for-profit membership and certification organisations selecting Workbooks such as DFK International, AD Biogas, Coeliac UK, SMTA, HIT Training, APMG International and RTITB.

Moyse continued: “Not-for-profit organisations increasingly face the same challenges as commercial organisations, and are turning to off-the-shelf CRM products to replace aging ‘specialist’ membership management systems, which allow them to streamline internal processes and reduce operational costs while enhancing the service offered to members to aid growth and retention.”
